NYC Marathon
Acmi participated at the 2010 edition of the most famous marathon in the world, the two participants where, Daniele Carlotti head of IT and the sales director Giorgio Guasti. Mr Carlotti stated "it was a memorable day, cold at the start in the warming up area, the thermometer was near 0°. After four hours, at 10 am on the dot I began my exciting experience". There were thousands of people all around the 42 km and 195 mt of the route that was to be run. "I crossed some of the most famous areas of New York, from Manhattan to the Bronx passing through the Jewish ghetto". Our athlete completed the race with a satisfactory time of 3 hrs and 37 mins. The adventure was slightly harder for the Acmi sales director, who had a meniscus operation a few weeks before the race, he managed to run for the first 15 km and the pain was too strong for him to carryon running so he was forced to finish the race walking, "reaching the finishing line was the most important sporting satisfaction of my life, even if the pain at times was unbearable and I was tempted to withdraw from the race". But the cheers and support of the crowd psychologically helped him through the race and allowed him to be listed amongst the finishers of the 2010 marathon. Our congratulations go to both competitors.
