The Mezzacorona winery awarded Acmi with the role of main contractor for the projection, installation, and commissioning of a new bottling line with a production capacity of 18.000 bottles/hr capable of handling twelve different formats ranging from 0.75 to 1.5 Lt even with reverse tapered bottles. The new line was installed in a completely new projected area ideal to house the new and highly innovative line.

Acmi excellence - robot SCARA

For the first time in this sector the Robot SCARA was introduced for handling the stockage of pallets and interlayers, both on the bottle depalletiser and the carton palletiser. The SCARA robot has the great advantage of being compact and simple in construction which implicates no maintenance and a level of ware of the components which is practically insignificant.

Rasar D200, Twisterbox, Condor P136

The low level  depalletiser which handles glass bottles is the reliable Rasar D200 model built with the necessary components which guarantees the integrity of the containers during the depalletisation and channelling phases. The line comprises a long series of covered conveyors that integrate all of the machines in the filling area up to the capping and labelling area. In this part of the line another important element is the Condor cartoning robot with self regulating gripping head. This machine is capable of handling at every cycle six bottles for ten cartons  or twelve bottles for five cartons even without partitions. Infact, in association with the Twisterbox layer formation system, the cartons containing the bottles are handled with extreme care. The model installed is part of the second generation, which has been improved both in terms of its construction and the electronic components installed, the new model is equipped with carbon pliers which are thinner and more resistant in comparison to the previous model. The Twisterbox layer formation system is an Acmi patent which allows the manipulation of any container with maximum precision and reliability reducing to a minimum any possible pressure or shock to the product and allowing for the elimination of partitions. The palletisation sytem is completed with the palletising robot Mod. Condor P136 at the outfeed of the Twisterbox. This particular configuration allows the customer to handle cartons or bulk bottles in the palletisation phase. To conclude, without any doubt we can affirm that Mezzacorona is an avant-garde line, exceptionally flexible in handling the formats and characterised by a high level of automation which is also thanks to the completely automatic change over formats installed on the cartoning machine and the palletiser.
