CONDOR MULTIFUNCTION ROBOT
The Condor is a last generation multifunctional robot used at the end of the line as a palletising and cartoning system. The robot is equipped with gripping heads capable of handling any type of container and may be programmed to handle different products at the same time. Ideal for palletizing and cartoning operations.
USE
The Condor is used in production lines with medium-low speeds of both the food and beverage sector. The Condor is capable of moving along 4 or 6 axis and may be associated with the Twisterbox, providing a complete palletisation system. The robot also carries out applications such as crater or decrater, when it is not possible to insert a specific machine (e.g. Spider) for reasons due to the lay-out. The main reason that the Condor can be integrated into the packaging lines is due to the gripping heads that Acmi constructs and projects on a made to measure basis depending on the measurements of each container to be handled. The gripping head can carry out up to 3 functions at the same time: managing the product, insertion of the interlayers and positioning of the pallet, simplifying in this way the management of the various magazines. One of the most frequent applications where the robot is more appropriate than a traditional palletiser is when having to handle a "multiliner" line, where it is necessary to handle different products at the same time. The Condor is capable of handling and palletising, on different pallets two different products with packaging with different dimensions or may palletise at the same time a packed product on one side and a bulk product on the other.

ADVANTAGES
Flexibility and reliability are the points of strength of this machine:
-
the flexibility resides in the capability of handling almost any format by means of appropriate gripping heads. It is important underline that the change over of the various gripping heads is carried out in an entirely automatic way without the need of operator intervention
-
the reliability of the machine is guaranteed by the robustness of the materials used implying less maintenance. The Condor robot does not require interventions once the functioning cycle has been programmed.
Furthermore, it is possible to add new formats over the course of time by means of simple re-programming and by means of specific gripping heads.

AUTMATIC GRIPPING HEAD CHANGEOVER
The automatic gripping head change over becomes indispensabile when high speed levels are to be maintained. The following images illustrate the Condor Robot with the gripping head with Bombay doors (on the left) and a gripping head with tulips (on the right) these may be substituted in few seconds in a completely automatic way.

GRIPPING HEADS
The gripping heads represent the true additional value that Acmi have added to the Condor robot. The gripping heads are projected and constructed depending on the product that has to be handled along with the customers requirements.

The following are examples of the types of products that the Acmi Condor robot can successfully handle:
- PET bottles of any form or size
- Glass bottles
- Lt. 10 bottles
- 5 gallon bottles
- Empty or full plastic crates
- Cartons
- Cans or jars
- Beer barrels
- kegs
